We’re seeking a Head of Production who oversees the manufacturing process, ensuring efficient production of Volvo construction equipment while maintaining quality standards, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This position will lead and coordinate resources, staff, and schedules to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, environmental, and people targets. The team member holding this position will have strong leadership and team management abilities and have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. The best candidate for this position will have knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality control standards. The selected candidate will also have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Main tasks and responsibilities of this position include:
· Lead and encourage continuous improvement by supporting, coaching, and using VPS lean tools and principles, including VSM (value stream mapping), problem solving, workplace organization, kaizen, and others.
· Mentor, supervise, lead, and coach direct reports to improve the performance and development of team members.
· Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
· Identify and implement process enhancements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
· Coordinate process improvement implementation by working cross-functionally, as needed.
· Track progress to targets. Escalate and mitigate deviations.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Prepare and analyze production reports to track performance and inform decision-making.
· Support the design, development, and implementation of new product development programs.
· Support the escalation of technical issues that arise during daily production.
· Manage budgets, materials, and equipment to optimize production efficiency.
· Pursue self-development and support the development of team members.
· Lead through a communicative leadership style to champion a culture that aligns with Volvo values and principles.

In this role, you will be successful if you have advanced leadership skills, enjoy leading and motivating others, and have a strong work ethic. Our future Head of Production is someone who has a Bachelor's degree in Business, Leadership, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant field, with 5 or more years of experience leading in a manufacturing environment, or will have 10 or more years of experience leading in a manufacturing environment. The right candidate for this position is someone who focuses on and drives continuous improvement. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to train, coach, and lead team members in the use of lean principles and tools, and has a strong drive for excellence!
