The Health & Safety team Sweden owns the Volvo Group health & safety agenda for Sweden, provides strategic direction and targets, and apply global steering, advice, and service for the whole Group.
Mission/Purpose of the job
As the SME Health & Safety Sweden, you will identify, work proactively and drive health & safety projects, meetings and activities. Your stakeholders will be People & Culture, Health & Safety, managers, employees and safety representatives in health and safety issues within all the Swedish TD/BA/GF. You will also be responsible for participating in different external and global working groups as well as implementing global initiatives.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
You will support the Swedish Truck Divisions, Business Areas and Group Functions (TD/BA/GF) to implement health and safety strategy, policies, methods, tools, and guidelines. Consult the organizations about their needs and translate that into health and safety activities. You will need to have big ears towards the organizations to understand their current state and needs, but also to ensure relevant communication and to promote the appropriate health and safety initiatives. You will challenge, coach, train and support people and teams in everything about health and safety.
You will be part of several cross-functional working groups, to secure good collaboration and work with health and safety.
You will be a member of the Swedish Health & Safety Functional Working Group that consists of representatives from all different organizations within the Volvo Group. In addition, you will also be responsible for driving various health and safety initiatives and actions for the entire Volvo Group in Sweden. Volvo Group are around 26.000 employees in Sweden.
You will cooperate with global Health & Safety. You will be part of the Labor Relation and Health & Safety Sweden team that consists of seven skilled and committed experts. You will report directly to the Head Labor Relation and Health & Safety Sweden, Group People & Culture.
Preferred Educational and/or training qualifications and certificates
· University degree, preferably master level in the Health & Safety area or equivalent
· Formal training in leadership, communication and/or project management is valuable
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
· Knowledge, experience, and interest in health & safety, where physical health is the most important area
· Strong knowledge of Swedish work environmental laws and regulations
· Strong leadership and influencing skills. Leadership experience is valuable
· Ability to coach, lead and to create trustful relations
· Ability to translate business needs into health and safety priorities and strategic actions
· Being an independent team player, you will be working autonomously but will never be alone
· Cross-functional and/or multi-cultural background is valuable
· Proficiency in both the Swedish and English language is required
Ready for the next move?
This position will be based in Gothenburg or in a Swedish production sites and requires occasional travel.
