Product Engineer

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Position Overview:

A Product Engineer is needed to support the manufacture of ceramic components at Siemens Charlottesville. The position requires previous experience in ceramic manufacturing, and an understanding of die casting/molding. Strong analytical skills are a prerequisite. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

This role will require support of current production as well as new product introduction. It will require continuous review of current manufacturing processes with the intent of advancing current production into a higher volume production environment. This person will collaborate with the engineering team and employees in all areas of the facility as well as external support to achieve the best results. It is expected that this individual will have the knowledge and experience to identify process improvement opportunities, suggest the appropriate changes, make and document the changes, supervise the implementation, and verify the expected results. Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

·  BS in Mechanical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering or similar
·  5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
·  Experience in die casting or molding
·  There may be a limited amount of travel required for this position.
·  This role requires a creative thinking approach
·  Engineer must work well in a collaborative environment
·  Six Sigma training is a plus
·  Project management training is a plus

This position may require an export license form the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
