R&D Laboratory and Workshop Team Leader


Job description

For our SI Division in Gebze we are looking for a Laboratory and Workshop Team Leader. This role will be responsible for the activities in R&D Test Laboratory and Workshop of low and medium voltage switchgears.

What are my responsibilities?
  • R&D validation and qualification of LV&MV Switchgear and components in the existing and new internal testing setups and areas and in external facilities. This includes planning, practical implementation and execution, analysis and documentation activities of LV&MV Switchgear and components’ tests, with close interaction with other R&D engineers, testing and laboratory specialists and technicians.
  • Familiar with the standards of IEC 62271-1 and IEC 62271-200
  • Member of the R&D team contributing to the design, specification, testing and qualification of the main components and sub-systems of LV&MV Switchgear. The tasks cover the phases from the conceptual design of the LV&MV Switchgear Systems using simulation tools to their final validation in the R&D labs.
  • Contribution to the maintenance and further development of the LV&MV Switchgear Technologies Expertise and Know-How of the MV Switchgear and Components R&D team in testing, validation, and certification.
  • Leading R&D Projects assigned from R&D Manager.

What do I need to qualify for this job?
  • Bachelor or Master degree in the field of Electrical Engineering
  • Experience and high interest on practical R&D experimentation, testing and validation of LV&MV Switchgear testing environment.
  • Know- how and expertise in test systems, equipment and infrastructure related to the validation and qualification of switchgear components and sub-systems testing, including protocols for safety, quality, reliability, and certification.
  • Interest in applied research and development, self-organized, motivated person, that likes to work in a research and development team composed of experts in different domains.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. German is a plus.
  • Good command of MS Office applications.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience leading a team.
  • No restriction to travel abroad.
