Job description
Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinatedtransportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, railautomation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture acrossthe entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passengertrains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, andhigh-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to providetraction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signalingand control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.
The candidate will be responsible for commissioning,troubleshooting, and repairing the next generation of light rail vehicles in Seattle, WA . The technician will need to be familiar with electrical,mechanical, and hydraulic systems as well as computer networking skills.
Responsibilities
• Perform,with use of mechanical drawings, schematics and location circuit plans,electrical and mechanical repairs of various components
• Diagnoseelectrical malfunctions in light rail propulsion control circuits andcomponents, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective actionneeded.
• Understandand follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
• Communicatewith others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedurerecommendations, and other work-related information.
• Assistother employees as needed.
• Read,interpret and understand written or electronic information, maintain theinformation, and compile reports
• Use PTU’s(laptops) to troubleshoot various systems onboard the Light Rail vehicles.
VR or DMV check needs to be run to ensure that worker has avalid driver's license. Must be proficient in electrical, mechanical, andhydraulic troubleshooting. 1-5 years' experience working with industrial electrical,and mechanical components is a requirement.
