Job description
We are looking for a driven, strategic and passionate Merchandising Trainee to support the Product Marketing & Merchandising department for Cartier Northern Europe. As part of the merchandising team, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on Jewelry, Watches, Accessories & Fragrances, by being involved in different cross-merchandising projects, boutique requests and operational tasks. You will also support the execution of staff sales.
Start will be in March 2025 for 12 Months.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure Product Availability
· Close collaboration with HQ Operations and product managers for the preparation of the product launches and collection of the information about possible delays
· Monitor monthly or weekly changes in sales trend, shortages, logistic processing, Regions/Boutiques stock, assortment and trends. Present findings to the team and propose solutions to management
Service to the Retail Network
· Monitor boutique stock levels/assortments & sales to determine optimal product mix, recommend and execute actions to support sales
· Build assortments by boutique; review & update based on trends, support boutique openings
· Support sales forecasts for range & novelties
· Interact with boutiques regarding stock availability; support all requests for products
· Ensure proper product flow; share best practices for inter-boutiques transfers, guidelines on maintaining quality of stock
Active involvement in cross-functional projects
· Execution and operational support on staff sales
· Handling special projects and responsibilities as required. Communicate with Marketing, Corporate Retail; PR team; Warehouse; VM; Sales and Operations team
· Support PR and other departments with products supply
Stock Management
· Monitor inventory levels vs. targets and shortages, closely monitoring one-shot creations
· Identify inventory opportunities by analyzing stock transfers & needs, propose assortment adjustments
· Monitor product life cycle and organization of the returns of the old collections
PROFILE
· Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, or related field
· Internships or 1 year of experience in merchandising, store planning, buying or business development is required, preferably in the luxury industry
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed
· An entrepreneurial mindset that includes curiosity to improve business acumen is required
· Strong organizational skills with excellent time management and decision-making skills
· Ability to build business strategies and plans related to inventory
· Ability to quickly learn new software applications, must have excellent computer skills in SAP and Microsoft Office with strong focus on Excel, Analysis and PowerPoint.
· Ability to travel as needed
· Business fluency in English and German
