Import / Export Co-ordinator – UK
Reports to: Customs Operations Manager- Europe
Based : Islip, Northamptonshire
Role Type : Fixed Term Contract – 1 year
Purpose of Role
To liaise between internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure all the necessary documents and data required are obtained and sent to the relevant customs broker for submission to the customs authorities. This is to allow export and import declarations to be made to the UK and EU authorities in a timely manner and ensuring that movements of goods between the two blocs are as smooth as possible.
Key responsibilities
· Liaise with Buying Merchandising and Design (BMD) in relation to transfer POs
· Liaise with the Distribution Centres to ensure supplier deliveries are booked in line with planned handover so that documents can be created
· Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely completion of online invoice, packing list and all supporting documentation required for supplier deliveries
· For internal Primark Inter-Bloc Transfers (IBTs), ensure that the booking is made via the European Control Tower once the transfer POs have been completed
· Create packing list and online invoice for IBTs
· Liaise with Advanced Supply Chain, Primark’s nominated re-processor, to ensure the accuracy of shipment quantities, etc after reprocessing
· Work closely with the Customs Administration team to ensure all regulatory certificates and tariff classification have been completed
· Liaise with Britannia Bureau and its partners to ensure the timely submission of export and import declarations
· Liaise with Toga Logistics for movements to and from the Republic of Ireland
· Ensure duty data is given to Accounts Payable to enable weekly reconciliation and actualisation
· Act as the central point of contact in relation to all movements between the UK and EU Additional responsibilities
· To create and run reports to ensure compliance with key milestones and triggers in relation to creation of online documents
· To track export and import declarations and ensure all are completed within the month end timelines for each customs jurisdiction Essential knowledge, skills and experience:
· Ability to communicate with others both verbally and in writing

· Experience of working in a customs/supply chain role desirable
· Experience using Microsoft Office programmes, eg Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint etc.
