Handyperson at Hyatt House South Melbourne
An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for a Handyperson to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. As the Handyperson, you will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance and Security Supervisor in ensuring the hotel is well maintained and guests’ needs are met in accordance with Hyatt International’s brand standards. Demonstrated through operating plant machinery and carrying out repairs / maintenance for front and back of house areas.
· Carry out a range of maintenance and repair work to areas throughout the hotel primarily based on your main skill set, with the ability and flexibility to also multi skill.
· Attend to all guest and colleague requests in a timely and professional manner
· Perform routine inspection of all public areas and plant repairs & maintenance as required
· To monitor plant operations and conduct regular plant inspections during your shift
· Assist other trades in the completion of tasks as required
· Attend to, and report any malfunctions on plant and equipment as situations arise
· Coordinate and supervise contractors where required to ensure compliance around Hotel’s procedures regarding guest contact and safety
· The ability to create a positive first impression when interacting with guests and fellow colleagues
· The flexibility to work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays as and when required
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Your background:
To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
· Trade qualified is most desirable
· Minimum 5 years in a general maintenance role
· Previous experience within a facilities maintenance role would be advantageous
· Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with advanced proficiency of the English language
· Excellent time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised
· A level of customer service skills along with excellent service resolution skills
· The necessary skills to be able to perform a variety of general maintenance and repair works
· The ability to work and foster connections in a team environment
