Global Sustainability oversees HSBC's global philanthropic programmes - which focus on education and the environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this dedicated team in the role of Regional Head of Corporate Sustainability, Asia-Pacific.

Principal responsibilities

· Lead the Sustainability team across the Asia-Pacific region, being the principal spokesperson and representing HSBC's approach to sustainability
· Implement Global Sustainability strategy in the region to ensure commitment and consistent delivery
· Maximise opportunities to strengthen HSBC's brand and promote community engagement through the Bank's investment and efforts in Sustainability
· Support the business to manage Sustainability Risk and to identify social and environmental business opportunities while engaging the business to deliver relevant Global Sustainability programmes
· Manage community investment budget, ensuring all risks and controls are in place
· Ensure accurate management information is gathered on community investment projects and programmes to measure, report and track outcomes and impacts
· Increase levels of internal and external communication materials across the Global Sustainability agenda
· Engage with ‎key stakeholders, including non-governmental organisation to develop relationships and collaboration

Desired profile

Requirements
·  Broad experience of Sustainability gained across a variety of business areas
·  Ability to multi-task, manage ambiguity and deal with issues that have global impact
·  Experience of working and partnering with the charitable sector
·  Proven track record of managing operations within budget and headcount target, supplier negotiations and contracts
·  Experience of leading a diverse regional team will be an asset
·  Demonstrated ability to collaborate and achieve outcomes across broad stakeholder groups
·  Analytical, financially numerate and commercially aware, with exceptional writing and negotiation skills
·  Able to work collaboratively, independently and virtually within a large multi-cultural organisation

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
