We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Data and Analytics.
Business: Data Markets
Principal responsibilities:
• Lead the design and implementation of a methodology to consistently maintain high-quality ESG data taxonomy. The data taxonomy shall align to major ESG reporting standards in order to be future-proof and adaptive to changes;
• Lead the design and implementation of a methodology to consistently maintain high-quality ESG Data Models, across all layers from conceptual data models to physical data models, to comply to HSBC data standards. The ESG data taxonomy and data model shall integrate to each other to enable automated data management and data control, i.e. to make both data consumption and data control an easier and scalable job.
• Lead the design and implementation of a highly automated solution to manage all ESG data we acquire from external data sources. The solution is able to continuously generate value by (1) maximize the utilization of data we have, (2) reduce under utilization and duplication, and (3) visualize data gaps ahead of time.
• Seek and manage product development funding by (1) Clearly articulate product strategies and (2) cost vs benefit of each design, to stakeholders who makes investment decisions.
• Ensure all solution design receive required approvals from relevant governance forums.
Requirements
• Strong data modeling skill;
• Strong data taxonomy skill;
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data management and metadata;
• Strong communication skills, can clearly articulate the designs and rationales with the help of clear diagrams at different detail level to different types of stakeholders, attentive listener who can find out the real concerns from different stakeholders.
• Result driven, when there is complexity with contradicting ideas, be able to structure the problem and execute a strategy to get to a risk based solution.
• Approachable personality, brave and skillful to deal with difficult personalities and situations
What additional skills will be good to have?
• Strong data management knowledge for major data technologies and data management tools.
• Strong domain knowledge in one business domain will be advantage, e.g. ESG reporting, Climate Risk modeling, Wholesale Banking.
• Project management skills.
