We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Principal responsibilities

·  Support PODs to resolve technical blockers.
·  Help PODs teams to build better understanding of development standards and quality gates.
·  Provide governance across PODs and inner-sourcing teams to maintain consistency and standardization.
·  Identify automation opportunities and implement the same to gain.
·   Responsible to ensure the best design, development and testing practices are embedded in the scrum(s).
·  Closely work with the product owners and architects in understanding and maturing the solution.
·   Get early visibility in pipeline so that technical challenges can be identified and resolved in collaboration.
·  Works in collaboration with architects and core engineering team in defining standards and best practices
·  Identify and highlight tech debts. Help to analyze the impact on wider estate and prioritize tech debts.
·  Help reduce foot print by defining demise strategy (e.g. versions, single codebase multiple deployment)
·   Provide thought leadership by understanding latest trends and proposing new patterns and approaches. And take it with Architects and core engineering to take it forward.
·  Provid technical inputs and suggesting approaches in managing technical upgrades, platform changes and tech debts. This is trivial especially in managing these activities at a scale.
·  Help to deliver and improve NFR – performance improvements, security
·  Share best practices, tooling and design patterns with wider development teams across IWPB. This will help to pass on benefits to wider organization

Requirements

·  University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline

·  Experience collaborating effectively across multiple engineering centers in multiple territories

·   Advocate for quality

·  Be an ambassador for writing testable code

·  Gatekeeper for definition of done 

·  Track record in working on the delivery of complex deployment projects and under diversified/ matrix structure

·  Strong business sense with good understanding in how IT systems impact business objectives

·  Strong communication, presentation & influencing skills, able to operate well across cultures and in multi-cultural, diverse work environments

·   Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills

·  Excellent team player with ability to work under minimal supervision

·  Good command of written and spoken English. Mandarin is also preferred

·  Able to work at flexible hour for late evening meeting with colleagues in various regions, deployment & production support

·  Able to work under pressure

·  Willing to learn/explore various technologies especially in Integration domain

·  Knowledge or experience to Android / iOS Engineer 

·  Knowledge or experience to React/Angular JS. 

·   Solid and proficient skills in Java, Spring Framework, Web Service, JSON, RAML

·   Knowledge and experience of DevOps, Microservice, Restful API, Agile concepts.

·   Knowledge of DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Splunk, Jira/Confluence, AppD, Docker, Kubernetes
