  We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of a Consultant Specialist

In this role, responsibilities will include:

·  Linux Systems Administrator for a project delivery and support team, maintaining a server estate of over 2,000 servers.
·  Responsible for build, configuration, release and maintenance activities across multiple environments and services or varying criticality.
·  Build, develop and rollout automation to support deployment of repeatable actions at scale working within a security compliant framework.
·  Implementing security measures and best practices by adhering to operational standards from deployment, administration, monitoring and security, to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our systems.
·  Provide guidance, mentorship and technical support to team members, fostering their professional development.
·  Monitoring system performance, investigation into hardware and system software problems and undertaking corrective actions.
·  Supporting Application teams with deployments, analysis, planning and documentation.
·  Assist the Team Leader in managing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the team.
·  Additional responsibilities to include the L3 support and maintenance of Linux environments, patching and critical vulnerability resolution, SAN migrations and supporting DBA and Middleware teams with Linux requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

·  You will already have significant experience of working in a major enterprise environment and proficiency in Linux server admin skills (RedHat/SUSE) is a must.
·  Excellent knowledge of Veritas Volume manager and Veritas Cluster Server is required.
·  Knowledge and experience of automation tools and relevant BASH scripting experience,.
·  You will need to have experience with IBM and HP hardware with NAS storage and EMC SAN solutions.
·  Prior experience in automation, Jenkins, ansible, python would be an advantage.
·  Good understanding of Networking, Databases and Middleware.
·  Able to create and maintain comprehensive documentation of new and defined processes, procedures and troubleshooting steps to aid the team members for reference and training purposes.
·  Able to work as part of a team and individually.
·  Able to work under pressure and willing to use and take the initiative when required.
·  Accepts that the role will require, on occasion, anti-social hours to be worked.
