This position is part of the Global Operations Lending Services Card & Loan Operations team. The role of Assistant Vice President Operations is to be responsible for leading, motivating and developing the Card and Loan Operations teams to deliver optimum customer and colleague experience, balancing operational and cost efficiencies.
This role will be hybrid working, with office premises located in Mireka Towers (Havelock City Colombo).

The Opportunity: 

·  We’re looking for an enthusiastic, culture-creating individual to lead the management for a new Team of Card and Loans case handlers amongst other responsibilities. Skills we are looking for include:

·  Planning and prioritizing work appropriately considering importance, urgency, customer and business impact.
·  The ability to quickly assess risk and customer impact in an operational environment and take mitigating actions. 
·  Passion for learning, individual skill development, with an ability to take others on the journey.

What you’ll do: 

·  A positive customer journey is our key focus. Team management responsibilities would include:   
·  Ensuring the Cards & Loans teams are meeting and exceeding all agreed performance targets to be ‘Best in Class.’ 
·  Communicating operational requirements and changes to teams for effective implementation. 
·  Promoting an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
·  Communicating a clear vision for the team, aligned to the overall HSBC vision, values and goals - inspiring people to create an inclusive, high performing, customer-centred culture.
·  Leading, developing and motivating the team to attract and retain capacity, capability, and talent for succession and delivery of business objectives.
·  Setting expectations, sharing best practice and manage, monitor, coach and develop team leaders and others, to ensure performance maximisation, to exceed the required standards by continuously developing individual capabilities and experience.
·  Managing the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver the agreed team plans and targets.
·  Identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
·  Implementing and monitoring the application of policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices, and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
