Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for general accounting and policy application (USGAAP & local GAAP) for all cycles including cash, inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany, other assets, other liabilities, etc.
  • Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver competitive financial process/accounting services.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all statutory compliance and reporting steps are executed compliantly and efficiently.
  • Responsible for collaborating with statutory team members, other functions and other service providers to ensure local statutory processes are complete and accurate and that key metrics are accurately maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all the account reconciliations are completed efficiently and accurately through the development and oversite of centralized processes and procedures.
  • Develop and execute any necessary remediation plans for account reconciliations and monitor and collaborate with other regional stat team members on similar efforts as required.
  • Liaise with accounting and IT teams to enhance and develop system capabilities to provide data required for GE stat compliance and reporting processes.
  • Production of accurate statutory financial statements in accordance with local GAAP which must be audited.
  • Responsible for attending external and internal auditors.
  • The role operates with some autonomy, but is focused on execution of activities/provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
  • Activities require professional judgment, but may require more senior levels of guidance.
  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems.
  • Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
  • May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting.
  • This role requires advanced experience in the Finance & Accounting Operations.
  • Proven analytical and project management skills.
  • Previous experience with Controllership activities (Statutory & USGAAP).
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
