Job Description Summary

A Quality Associate must demonstrate the ability to work alongside the Production team to interpret Factory Work Orders, test manufactured products using electrical test equipment, spot deviations and failures, and properly report/amend any quality issues. The position calls for a detail-oriented individual that will ensure that products are delivered to our customers that meet requirements whether customer-oriented, internal, or per various Standards.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Test functional performance of instrument transformers, including electrical functions, high voltage tests, and visual and dimensional inspections
  • Perform mechanical adjustment operations on instrument transformers components, linkages, and operating mechanisms
  • Compare results with specifications, records test data, and prints test results
  • Perform electrical trouble-shooting and minor repairs, including the replacing of defective components, and mechanical repairs. Frequently required to support production during repair procedures
  • Analyze test results on defective units and reports on nonconforming products
  • Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems
  • Review test reports from other test technicians and maintains the test reports files
  • Calibrate test instruments according to specifications
  • Perform maintenance and repair procedures on electrical and mechanical test equipment, gas handling equipment, and test facilities
  • Ensure the product will meet customer requirement in regards for finished goods
  • Document work performed by filling out proper forms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience in quality control testing or electrical

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to read schematics, nameplates, electrical drawings, and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and voltmeters
  • Solid knowledge of basic electrical theory
  • Must be computer literate
  • Proficient in excel
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong math background
  • Ability to speak effectively, write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to understand test procedures and requirements and explain them to customers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must be articulate and professional, with good interpersonal skills because of frequent customer witness tests in the test lab
