The Design Liaison Engineering team is the face of Gas Turbine Engineering to
supply chain. This team leads second source supplier qualifications,
dispositioning deviant hardware, supporting lean activities, cost reduction, scrap reduction and pre-emptive scrap and non-conformance reductions as well. The team is critical to enabling fulfillment for our customers.

This job involves working as a hands-on, experienced engineer leading the team
in supporting hardware quality and fulfillment. The Hot Gas Path engineer will
interface closely with the component design engineers, manufacturing
engineers, and the Global Supply Chain initiatives team to ensure GE delivers
quality hardware that meets the needs of our service centers and customers.

Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Partner with Global Supply Chain (GSC) to the Turbine Module for quality and cost-out initiatives, driving proactive and reactive quality-focused projects
  • Act as technical focal for qualifications of new processes/changes and deviation support to maximize business impact
  • Apply knowledge of gas turbine design and manufacturing to implement new ideas that enhance overall function of part, reduce cost, and add value
  • Design for producibility and lean flow. Partnership with Supply Chain on Lean Line introductions and daily management of Lean Line issues / improvements
  • Qualification guidelines, specifications, top issues, and coordination
  • Advanced manufacturing development/Development of NPIs
  • Technology development and qualification of special processes – castings, coating, hole drilling, etc.
  • Cultivate positive working environment and morale; drive a sense of urgency and quality with speed


What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience
  • Relevant engineering experience
