GE Vernova’s Advanced Research business is the central innovation engine for GE’s portfolio of energy businesses, which will be unified under one banner called GE Vernova. The research organization is made up of 250+ researchers representing virtually every major scientific and engineering discipline. Collectively, they are driving major research programs and initiatives to decarbonize power, accelerate renewables, and promote electrification and the creation of a 21st century grid fit to power a zero-carbon energy future.

The Analyst - External Costing (AEC), will perform costing activities in support of complex proposals for sponsored projects and proposals associated with new customers, issue external and intra-company billing and monitor process and drive process improvements for the planned research center for GE Vernova.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Costing efforts in support of complex proposals for sponsored projects, including direct contracts, subcontracts, contracts from GE businesses and requotes 

  • Compile and issue contract required financial performance and subcontract activity reports 

  • Complete billing activities required in support of assigned contracts and GE businesses 

  • Monitoring customer accounts and performing collection activities for assigned customers 

  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships 

  • Drive process compliance and improvement/simplification 

  • Assist in account/finance activities including GL&PA closing 

  • Monitor and report Government property in accordance with regulations 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a financial or related discipline or an Associate’s degree in a financial or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in government grants and contracts cost estimating 

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 

  • Proven success with high performance teams and customer relations 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve quality results 

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Provisions.

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

  • Must be 18 years or older.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with estimating and billing processes, tools, accounting systems and practices within a research environment

  • Knowledge of Government regulations related to cost estimating and allowable cost and payment 

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Project Accounting and Accounts Receivable applications 

  • Receivables collection experience 

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Power Point 

  • Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

The base pay range for this position is $78,200 - $117,200. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will be posted until at least 6/28/2024.
