The Opportunity
You will join the Valuation, Modeling and Economics (VME) team of around 15experts, part of the broader EY’s Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) department consisting of more than 70advisors and consultants. The people within TAS have divers educational and professional backgrounds such as corporate finance, engineering, industry and financial audit.
TAS combines the experience and expertise of its people to offer a complete range of value-added services to its clients within the context of corporate transactions: M&A, private equity, restructuring, etc.
You will focus on the valuation and modelling of businesses, intangible assets projects within a transactional context. A typical valuation assignment has a short duration ranging from 3 to 8 weeks. This means VME can offer you lots of variety and exposure to various companies, industries and types of transactions.
Your assignments will be in divers contexts, such as M&A transaction advise, valuation for tax purposes, impairment testing, valuation of management remuneration schemes, financial reporting, dispute & litigation purposes, etc.
On a typical assignment you will require a broad skill set: valuation (e.g. DCF, multiple valuation, PPAs, option valuation, etc.) and financial modelling (LBO, M&A synergy models, PPP and DBFM models, etc.), business plan review, peer group and market research, report writing, etc.

Key Responsibilities
Functional expectations:
· Perform company valuations and intangible asset valuation;
· Write reports, concisely summarizing the results of your valuation work and clearly communicate your conclusions;
· Design and build financial models as part of valuation assignments, models to support planning and execution of range of transactions including mergers & acquisitions, joint-ventures, disposals, buy-outs, IPOs, PPPs and structured and project finance transactions;
· Review of models, valuations and their documentation in respect of technical and accurate implementations, with respect to financial parameters, regulatory issues, strategy, etc.;
· Perform company, peer group and market research;
· Give technical valuation advice to clients;
· Advise on reasonableness of business plans and assumptions, to have the ability to analyse the financial impact of alternative scenarios or changing market conditions;
Managerial and leadership expectations:
· Lead and coach project team;
· Day-to-day management of projects including first line client contact;
· Review work of junior colleagues (including workbooks, models and reports);
Commercial expectations:
· Actively lead the identification of potential projects or clients and actively contribute to business development;
· Attend events and presentations;
Profile
· Master degree in finance, economics, mathematics or engineering;
· Between 3-8 years of working experience in a relevant field;
· Good knowledge of Dutch, French and English;
· You have strong understanding of financial statement analysis (P&L, BS, CF);
· You are able to link the business reality to the figures in the financial statements, you can analyse relevant financial and operational KPIs;
· Strong knowledge about DCF and multiple-based valuation techniques;
· Solid communication, analytical and report writing skills. You are inquisitive and assertive in obtaining client information from senior management;
· Excellent Excel Skills (VBA is a plus);
· Enrollment in the CFA program is helpful;
· Passionate and result driven;
· Team player with the ability to build relationships at all levels;
· You have the necessary competencies to perform your job independently while using professional assertiveness.
