Job Summary:

  

The Background Investigations Coordinator performs various administrative and project related tasks of a responsible nature to support the General Counsel’s Office (GCO) Investigations Group and other key management personnel. This position handles differing situations, problems and deviations in the work of the department according to general instructions, priorities, policies and team goals. The role coordinates the activities associated with background investigations in compliance with the requirements of EY clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

·  Coordinate with vendor and engagement teams to manage the client required background investigation (BI) process in obtaining the information needed from the engagement teams, outlining scope requirements with EY clients, obtaining proper information from employees, initiating requests with vendor and following through on open items
·  Establish and maintain a systematic method for tracking client BI requirements for EY employees working on client engagements, to ensure the EY employees have had the proper scope of background check required by EY clients
·  Assist with coordination of large highly confidential time-sensitive projects (creating correspondence, printing material, organizing files and tracking project status)
·  Manage tasks and activities in a timely manner, including group projects, and is responsible for specific outcomes
·  Assist in validating full compliance and appropriate documentation of materials
·  Monitor team members' email and caseload when absent
·  Identify and leverage relationships with key internal and external clients and is recognized as a business partner/resource
·  Demonstrate the value of the team’s work by keeping the client and stakeholders up-to-date, and explaining issues, approaches and solutions (i.e., manage expectations)

 To qualify, candidates must have:  

·  Strong collaboration and communication skills, both oral and written
·  Ability to improve standardized best practices and service delivery to accomplish firm, group, customer and/or individual goals
·  Ability to meet new challenges and changes with an open mind and an optimistic response
·  Ability to understand and anticipate customers' needs, deliver service that meets expectations and demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to help
·  Strong organization skills with the ability to successfully manage and coordinate simultaneous projects with multiple tasks and functions independently, while exercising sound judgment
·  Proficiency in the use of standardized software and hardware applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
·  The ability to acquire and maintain knowledge about our various technology resources in order to utilize these enablers effectively in delivering high value business solutions
·  A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
·  Approximately 5-7 years of related experience
