Job description



Background:

EY has been contracted by the Delegation of the European Union to Pakistan to implement the EU Promotion of Human Rights in Pakistan programme. The principal beneficiary of the programme is the Federal Ministry of Human Rights. The Ministry of Human Rights is also responsible for the management of the programme.

The programme implementation team is seeking an Associate Report Writer/Editor to assist the Senior Key Expert and Junior Non-Key Expert with designing and editing training materials, drafting and editing training impact reports and coordinate with multiple stakeholders including the Ministry of Human Rights.

Roles and Responsibilities

· 
Assist Key Expert 3 in conducting human rights related research for desk reviews to be conducted prior to Needs Assessment

· 
Assist with drafting, proof reading and editing all training programs, manuals, took kits and modules 

· 
Assist with drafting training impact report

· 
Record minutes of meeting with stakeholders during consultations

· 
Assist during trainings, record notes and observations which will be reflected in the training report

· 
Draft update reports as and when required

· 
Assist with coordinating with stakeholders

Qualification and skills

Bachelors in Social Science and/or English and/or related field with at least of 1 year experience in applying international human rights in the Pakistan domestic context.

Specific Experience

· 
Ability to conduct research and can assist the key experts in designing human rights training programs

· 
Working knowledge of international human rights treaties, conventions and Pakistan’s commitments and/or obligations

· 
Excellent English Language writing and editing

· 
Proven ability to draft reports in a timely fashion

· 
Organised and responsible

· 
Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines;

· 
Appreciation of diplomatic and political sensitivities;

· 
Ability to communicate effectively across all modes of communication

Language skills

Urdu (Fluent)

N.B.: The Ministry of Human Rights has taken a policy decision that all experts hired under this programme should sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before undertaking their assignment. The NDA will be attached as an annex to the short-term consultancy agreement entered into between EY and the successful candidate.
