We are offering one exceptional candidate the chance to be an Assistant Finance Manager at our site in West Thurrock until the end of May 2016. In this role you will hold key financial responsibility for managing all financial aspects of the operation with support from the Finance Manager, ensuring both customer and DHL reporting requirements are fulfilled.

What are you accountable for achieving as an Assistant Finance Manager?

Responsible for the preparation of weekly quicks and management accounts
Provide support to FM and Operations with financial collation and analysis
Assisting in the management of the Finance function, ensuring all audit and legal requirements are maintained
Undertake and complete all aspects of site month end trading
Ensuring revenue is invoiced accurately and debt collected in a timely fashion
Management and development of two finance clerks in conjunction with the other AFM's
Ensure strong financial controls and systems are managed and pro-actively ensure the controls are maintained
Ensuring the robustness of Global Metrics Scorecard (GMS) and Carbon accounting
Provide cover for the Finance Manager and the team in their absence
Assistance in preparation of budgets and forecasts
Continually challenge site / account performance and identify areas of opportunity and risk
Work closely with finance colleagues who have input on this contract.

What will you need as a successful Assistant Finance Manager?

Ideally you will be a Part Qualified Accountant or working towards an accountancy qualification e.g. AAT, CIMA, ACCA
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Previous experience in a logistics / manufacturing / production environment, in an accountancy / financial position
Excellent IT skills, in particular MS Excel
Competent in the use of Oracle or experience of working with alternative financial software
Analytical and questioning mind
Experience with dealing / resolving customer issues
Self-motivated with the ability to work to strict deadlines and manage own priorities
Previous experience in a customer facing role
