What You'll do | The Compute Systems Product Group (CSPG) is looking for an expert, Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) to design and develop solutions, perform end-to-end design validations, Storage/Compute/Network benchmarking, support Sales-conversations, demonstrate the solution capabilities, and help resolve issues faced by customers. The right candidate will have an opportunity to develop brand new solutions using big data technologies on various Cisco platforms for OnPrem UCS and Private-Cloud HyperFlex environments. The technologies you would be exposed but not limited to are the following: - Big Data and Analytics
- Hadoop, HDFS, NoSQL, NiFi, KAFKA
- IT Operations Analytics - such as Splunk, Elastic Stack
- Virtualization
- Nexus Networking
- Containers
- HW/SW Benchmarking
- Ansible stack
- BASH/Python scripting, Tools development
- Cutting Edge baremetal and Hyperconverged data center compute technologies – UCS, Hyperflex
- Cloud-based OnPrem Server management platform – Cisco Intersight
Role also includes the following: - Creation of collateral including technical requirements, test plans, technical presentations, white papers, design guides and implementation guides to address product management and marketing requirements
- Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for sales opportunities that involve Big Data solutions on converged and hyperconverged infrastructure, management and automation, including integration with certain select 3rd party product.
- Performance Benchmarking of Big Data Technologies on Cisco UCS platform and Cisco HyperFlex platforms.
- Monitoring UCS, HyperFlex, Big Data related internal mailers and engaging with Cisco AMs, TSAs, PSSs, to provide technical sales support
- Troubleshooting Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, virtualization, container aspects of the Big Data solution during development
- Provide technical guidance to Cisco Technical Support team post-sales for debugging / addressing performance, scalability, and other aspects of the solution.

Who You'll work with | - The Cisco UCS Solutions team is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven technical marketing engineer (TME) to define, validate and drive solutions specializing in Big Data technologies on Cisco UCS and HyperFlex platforms. These solutions enable our customers to standardize their compute, network and storage deployment models to achieve new levels of operational efficiency with consistent policies.
- Computing Systems Product Business Unit (CSPBU) is a global organization with over 300 employees spanning the hardware and software development, QA, technical marketing, product management and program management organizations. CSPBU is responsible for delivering an innovative rack, blade and hyperconverged servers for growing, highly complex data centers.

Who You Are | - Seeking candidates with 10 or more years of industry experience with Bachelors / Master's Degree in a technical discipline.
- Must be a self-starter and a team player.
- Storage I/O, Compute or Network benchmarking experience
- Must be Flexible, enthusiastic, and capable of learning and developing solutions based on new products and technologies
- Experience in scripting, tools development to simplify one's own task, database administration is a plus.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines,
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills,
- Demonstrated communications skills and experience developing presentations, whitepapers, and architectural documents working with platform engineering
Desired Skills - Hands on experience in planning/deploying/managing Big Data clusters.
- Knowledge of RAID architectures,
- Distributed computing and File systems
- Data processing Pipeline
- Excellent understanding of JSON, XML
- Experience with Hadoop/HDFS/Kafka/Elastic
