Who You'll Work With
Technical Services is team of world-class technical experts whose #1 focus is to help customers deploy and operate their networks effectively while delivering the best possible customer experience. Our success is validated through outstanding financial results, increasing customer satisfaction metrics, industry recognition, and employee satisfaction scores. Cisco's Technical Assistance Center (TAC) is a global, borderless TAC. The Automation team requires the highest level of technical ability, innovation, and general problem solving skills in the TAC. You will be required to work with teams across the globe through case reviews, 1:1 consultations with engineers to assist with reproducing customer problems, work with your peers across technologies to root cause and resolve automation issues.

What You'll Do

LEAD the industry by deploying, managing and troubleshooting Cisco's and industry leading automation technologies that the entire industry is leaning towards. Lead the automation transformation journey and be a part of worlds #1 IT company. You'll get a lot of hands-on experience, the ability to earn industry-leading certifications, and access to customer experience labs with over $1.7B in assets to stay up-to-date on dynamic new technology. You'll also get continuous training and development in both technical and leadership/customer skill areas.

The role is part creative problem solver, part status quo challenger, and first responder for raised issues and urgent customer demands. You're also a customer advocate working with development engineers and sharing what's new and top of mind back to your customers.

You will be the technical consultant for complex deployments and crisis manager when needed. You're the one with the customer assist to help them identify and embrace methodologies for configuration, software lifecycle management, network health, security and AUTOMATION.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in writing software in one or more languages, such as Python, Go, Java, C++ or similar.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: MPLS (L2/L3 VPN/VRF-Lite) and MPLS-TE, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, inter-as routing, QoS, Ipv6, IP SLAs, RPVST+, MST, PIM, DMVPN, GETVPN, NetFlow
  • Experience CODING? with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining hypervisors and containers.
  • Big data management, Visualization and optimization thinking and experience.
  • Must have strong English written, oral communication and listening skills.
  • Self-motivated and innovating; solid leadership ability and interest;energized working collaboratively.
  • Experience and up for the challenge to work in and manage high intensity environment, handling critical customer issues/problems and driving to resolution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in networking, security, data center or cloud
  • Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins).
  • Network telemetry, key-value & JSON document stores, time-series databases.
  • Software Defined Networking, network automation, data-plane programming
  • Working with Open Source. Both as a user and community contributor.
  • Virtualization and Database certification
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management.
  • Experience with data science and machine learning
