Cisco's Service Provider group has a very rich product portfolio coveringmultiple Routing platforms and ASICS/Optics. The software development team is responsible for developing innovative software solutions to validate hardware designs and support application development.

The Team

You'll will working as part of the Cisco team, working in between the SW, HW and data path architecture teams of tomorrow's leading infrastructure solutions.

Working on integration activities for various Cisco products functions, features and roadmap, you will be responsible for enabling a variety of next generation Cisco products developed around cutting edge Cisco silicon.

Role and Responsibilities:

As part of this role, you will be working very closely with internal engineering teams including Software, Hardware, and the systems Software team, working closely with them and guiding them throughout their system development.

In this role, you will:

• Analyze, program and debug Cisco's next generation infrastructure products used in local, networked, or internet-related computer programs.
• Interact and work closely with Cisco System product development teams to develop and debug datapath applications.
• Work cross functionally to drive the SW/HW system integration and testing
• Work on networking protocols for switch/router and infrastructure products.
• Modify and add new and specific software enhancements.
• Contribute to adding more tests and debugging capabilities to ensure solution and system quality.
• Translate specialized knowledge of ASIC state of the art architecture to Cisco product development teams.
• Provide guidance and support for Cisco engineering teams.
• Contribute to the next generation of leading infrastructure products.

Travelling may be required for this position.

  • Working knowledge of GDB and debugging application and kernel drivers
  • Background in Computer/electrical engineering
  • Familiar with L2-L3 networking, enough to understand platform solutions, topologies and interaction with higher networking layers
  
  

Minimum Qualification:

• Requires MSEE/CS combined with related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with relevant experience.
• Experience in software development and integration experience.
