Who You'll work with

In the Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) – Center R&D group, we are passionate about delivering amazing products to our customers. You will work with passionate, smart, motivated Engineers similar to yourselves who have innovated these technologies.

• Engineering Managers who will enable you to focus on doing what you love: delivering phenomenal software; they will also be your coach and guide on this exciting stage of your career journey.
• Technical Architects who will play a hands-on role in helping you design, develop, and operate with the standard methodologies, patterns the industry has to offer.
• Product Managers who will help you know our customers and partners, so you can deliver solutions that meet their needs and wants.

What You'll Do

As we are on this journey to build intent-based Networking and truly build the bridge between Business and IT you will work on the latest technologies and help innovate and accelerate our journey.

As an engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain the DNA-Center product.
• Translate product ideas into technically feasible stories
• Own the product from the technical angle, covering all aspects of architecture, design, development and validation practices
• Build scalable, reliable software system and features.
• Own what you build – providing end-to-end automation
• Considering flawless User Experience in mind by ensuring right granularity of the micro-services.
• Envision, Design and Develop the product/features considering how positively the product can impact the lives of people

Who you are

Technical Skills

• Extensive hands-on experience in building services using technologies such as Java, Python, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate.
• Experience in building large, asynchronous task systems, scalable distributed systems with good understanding of microservices architecture and associated principles
• Experience with Data Modeling in one or more databases (SQL and NoSQL – Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Hands-on experience in working with container platforms such as Docker and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, SOA architectures.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum Environment with standard aspects of agile including TDD, peer code reviews, automated testing with the highest attention to quality.
• Skills in networking and network management a plus.
