What You'll Do

Collaboration Technology Group is helping Cisco transform how people collaborate globally through solutions targeted at improving the user experience and driving collaboration and productivity to unprecedented levels, thus helping drive revenue growth and defining new business models.

A successful candidate for this role will possess fluency in coding and systems design, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, proficient communication skills, and a dedication to pursue complex problems of running cloud services.

In the highly visible role as a Software Engineer, you will:

• Collaborate within an agile development environment developing and delivering extraordinary software
• Develop beautiful, maintainable code, with comprehensive test-driven development
• Participate in code and architecture reviews
• Craft all aspects of the service including software development, continuous integration, continuous delivery to production, and kernel optimization settings
• Support, respond to, and resolve service issues
• Perform software performance analysis and system tuning

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• 2 to 4 years professional experience in platform design and development
• Experience with C++
  
• Practical knowledge programming and debugging server-side/cloud environments
• Experience with complex data structures and algorithms
• Collaborate well in groups and agree with people from all disciplines and cultures

Desired Skills

• Experience with Python and shell scripts
• Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests
• Experience with NoSQL databases Redis and Apache Cassandra
• Practical knowledge of XML, HTTP/REST, XMPP or SIP
• Proficiency with Git, preferring GitHub Enterprise
• Experience using Docker and HashiCorp's Nomad, Vault, and Consul
