CX US Commercial: SW Engineer

What You'll Do
Digital transformation, cloud, analytics and artificial intelligence have been crucial to mission success. CX Americas team is looking for experience engineers to build and improve systems powering data analytics platform using Apache Hadoop, Spark and other Big Data technologies.As a senior developer, you will play an important role in realizing project strategy and delivery of our Big Data and Analytical platform solutions.You will be working with a team of talent engineers to develop, optimize, improve and operate this platform, and your responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the development of key components and services to enable the delivery of business insight at scale
• Champion and define best engineering practices, coach or mentor junior engineers
• Work closely with Data science team to automate existing workflows, incorporate different Machine Learning workflows and assist with data infrastructure needs

• Test, maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization

You will work cross functionally with the Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing, and IT organizations, playing a leadership role in transforming Cisco by developing and implementing analytic models and intelligent automation to drive us toward a data-driven digital organization.

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements

• computer science fundamentals in data structure, algorithms and complexity analysis
• 3 to 4+ years of experience in building large scale, high performance, high availability systems
• Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop and other frameworks in Hadoop ecosystem)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and good team player
• Proficient with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Scala
• Demonstrated history of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

• Large-scale distributed systems experience, including scalability and fault tolerance
• Big data pipeline and analytics experience (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Presto, Kafka, Airflow, and similar)
• Working experience with Microservices, Container and Streaming technologies
• Understanding of database and query optimizations at scale.
• A demonstrated drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize distributed systems and tools
• Graduate degree in computer science or related field (MS or Ph.D.)
