What You'll Do

As part of an interconnected team you will provide a full spectrum of rapid and effective legal services, handling various aspects of the legal sales relationship with customers and partners and working cross-functionally or in close collaboration with your colleagues within Legal. In addition to negotiating contract terms you'll be actively contributing to knowledge management and continuing process improvement initiatives. You will be a “difference maker.”

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide end-to-end legal support for a broad range of agreements with Cisco customers and partners.
• Analyze matters, draft, negotiate, manage internal communications, facilitate escalations and approvals, and address queries with our customers and internal contacts.
• Rigorously and promptly update the status and other key information for managed cases.
• Conduct legal research of existing contracts and provide interpretation and summarization of legal terms to account and sales teams.
• Contribute to the team's collective knowledge through consistent publication of alternative negotiation positions in the team's internal knowledge management repositories and by sharing standard methodologies and lessons learned.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives generating specific, incremental, and sustainable improvements to the scope, skills, and structure of the team.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years providing legal support to sales deals or researching legal matters in a corporate legal department.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of legal concepts, contractual terms and constructs, and excellent understanding and judgment about when to escalate.
• Prior experience in SaaS and subscription licensing contracts is a plus.
• Strong analytical and comprehension skills, including the ability to probe the counterparty to validate and/or question thoroughly, to fully understand the intent of the request and to provide the most efficient and effective solution.
