The Consulting Engineer (CE) is responsible for the support and delivery of services for Cisco's Customer Experience (CX) Customers. In that position you will perform and drive architectural, design and integration engineering for complex network infrastructure solutions. CX CEs assist customers with tool selection and advice about strategic direction including tools and network management systems. CEs identify and document network/security design and architecture best practices.
CX CEs align and drive work and initiatives with the focus on customer's business strategy, objectives and outcomes. On a quarterly basis, CEs are expected to present overall status of projects and deliverables as part of the Quarterly Business Review meetings. CEs will demonstrate and generate applicable technical, standard methodologies, and white papers.
CEs have the responsibility for driving regional CX projects and customer requested project initiatives. They will actively lead complex datacenter, network, security, and collaboration design, performance engineering or problem resolution projects. CEs solve complex, multi-functional technical issues that cross boundaries over many disparate products and technologies.
Other Objectives:
- You will provide planning, designing and implementation services to Cisco's customers
- You will participate in or leads complex network migrations projects from Cisco to Cisco or any competitive platforms to Cisco
- You will deliver migration plans, with a thorough understanding of network, customers change management processes, migration processes and related dependencies
- You will work closely with the project manager on the engagement to ensure compliance to set processes, weekly progress and status checks, ongoing communications and meetings and drive technical leadership and solutions & deliverables discussions with the customers.
- As a primary technical contact, you will provide consultative, proactive and/or reactive support for Cisco Business Critical Services
- You will work independently, with minimal guidance and direction from manager and you will determine best approach to accomplish work
- You will mentor, coach and guide other consultants and engineers on the project to enable them for delivery
- You will assure that the most complex customers' problems across a broad range of technologies – as necessary for any client – are properly and quickly resolved
- You will ensure preventative measures are recommended and identified
Who You'll Work With
The EMEAR CX Architectures Team helps customers optimize their network investment and speed adoption and migration of advanced technologies. We are part of a worldwide organization within Cisco CX that provides Cisco's customers and partners with a suite of professional engineering support offerings to achieve a high-performance network for the next generation of network applications. This position will focus on the European market, covering mainly Germany, public sector.
Who You Are
- You have demonstrable Wireless LAN / WiFi experience
- You have BS or equivalent plus relevant experience in routing and switching environments
- Strong knowledge and expertise of below Cisco's products and technologies is must :
- Wireless Lan Controllers and Access Points, ISE or ACS, Prime Infrastructure, LAN Switching, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IP, QOS, Enterprise Switches
- Experience in design and deployment of Wireless technology (Including RF related activities such as site survey)
- You are able to analyse networking services requirements
- You have in-depth knowledge of designing and implementing complex network solutions
- CCIE Wireless and/or CCIE Security preferred or equivalent skills
- Knowledge of programming and/or scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, Perl, C or Java would be highly preferred.
- You are willing to travel around 25-35%
- You are fluent in English spoken and written
