What You'll Do
You will deliver Cisco Business Critical Services to Cisco customers, help customers to achieve their business goals by:
- Maximizing and maintaining network availability
- Accelerating network projects
- Securing the network infrastructure
- Improving operation efficiency by using analytics and automation
Your common responsibilities are:
- Provide proactive day 2 support to Cisco solutions and architectures; deliver expected Cisco service value and outcome to customers.
- Lead the discussions, on behalf of Cisco, of maximizing network availability, improving projects agility, network infrastructure security, and operation efficiency.
- Be able to work with customer's operations, engineering and architecture teams, and build relationship with key customer stakeholders, and become a trusted advisor.
- Present key findings, recommendations, and improvement at high level to customer management and executives.
- Audit existing network infrastructure, identify gaps and provide remediation recommendations.
- Recommend network infrastructure software and hardware lifecycle management strategy, and detail software version recommendations.
- Review highly complex network designs and provide recommendations.
- Provide expert support of Cisco routers, switches, WLAN devices and data center platforms.
- Review network implementation plan and change method of procedure, provide recommendations; Assist customer hardware and software qualification; support change windows.
- Recommend remediation for network infrastructure security vulnerabilities.
- Perform analysis and diagnosis of highly complex network problems, and escalation support.
- Be able to meet the customer on a regular basis at customer locations.

You will be working with the following Cisco teams:
- Working with Cisco's world class services consulting engineers, as well as other professional service project team members.
- Interacting with Cisco sales account team, product development teams, TAC and other functional teams.
You will be delivering servicers to Cisco customers:
- Supporting customers' operations, engineering, and network architecture teams.
Who You Are
CCIE route & switch, CCIE data center or equivalent knowledge and experience is required.
Technical skills:
Route and Switch:
- Must have skill:
- TCP/IP stack (IPv4 and IPv6 headers, important fields, operation), routing (OSPF, BGP), Ethernet, VLAN, STP, QoS
- Understanding of basic router and switch operations, SW vs. HW switching, centralized vs. distributed platforms, understanding and knowledge of at least one Cisco platform architecture
- Deployment experience - lab testing, MOP creation, implementation, troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of security – network device security, AAA, IPSec
- In-depth technical knowledge and operation/implementation experience of Cisco Enterprise routers and switches (ASR1000, Catalyst9000/6800/6500, ISR/ISR-G2 routers and other Catalyst switches).
- Knowledge and experience of VSS, EIGRP, ISIS, site to site and remote access VPN technologies, Multicast.
- Foundational knowledge of Cisco DNA (Digital Network Architecture), DNA Center, SDA (Software Defined Access) and SDWAN (Software Defined WAN) solutions.
- Strong operations, implementation and design experience of campus networks and enterprise WAN.
- • General familiarity with Cisco pro-active operational approaches such as software and hardware life cycle management, Software Risk Analysis, security advisory, release notes, field notices etc.
- Basic programing/scripting skill, Python experience is preferred.
Data Center:
- Must have skill:
- Knowledge and hands-on Implementation/support experience with most commonly deployed Cisco Data Center networking products: Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2K, Catalyst 6500.
- Strong design and operational knowledge of commonly used technologies & protocols in data center environments such as VPC/STP, LACP, OSPF/EIGRP/BGP, OTV/VXLAN, FC/FCoE/iSCSI, L2/L3 Multicast, DC QoS.
- Strong consulting expertise for Data Center design and operational aspects.
- Knowledge of ACI, Nexus 9K & MDS, hands-on experience is nice to have.
- Troubleshooting expertise for common Data Center networking issues.
- Enterprise / DC end-to-end, network multi-tenant and multi service virtualization.
- DC Application and Network-centric point of delivery integration and migration, planning and execution techniques.
- Knowledge of Cisco best practices and data center validated design guides for example VMDC etc.
- Network service and network integration, especially Firewall, ADC, Compute, and storage etc.

- Must be comfortable with leading discussion with customers about Cisco's recommendation of their network operations, implementation, changes and design.
- Be able to handle pressure and difficult situations when network crisis or critical issues arise.
- Understand Agile, DevOps concept.
Work experience:
- Requires a mix of network operations, implementation, design and architecture experience, but focus more on network operations and implementation.
- Has been working for one of more organizations long enough to fully understand network operations and lifecycle.
Vertical industry experience:
- Public Sector and enterprise experience is highly preferred.
Work location:
- Vancouver, BC, Canada is preferred.
- Edmonton, or Calgary, Alberta, Canada are alternative.
