Senior Murex Technical Lead

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office at a minimum 4 days per week - subject to change at any time. 

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Development Lead to oversee the migration of a legacy trading system to the Murex platform within the Corporate Treasury line of business. This is a critical role that requires strong technical leadership, deep understanding of trading systems, and experience in large-scale platform migrations in a banking environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Lead the end-to-end technical migration from the legacy trading system to Murex.
. Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to define migration strategy and roadmap.
. Ensure data integrity, system performance, and compliance throughout the migration process.
. Oversee development, configuration, and integration of Murex modules for Corporate Treasury products (FX, MM, IR derivatives, etc.).
. Manage technical risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices for system stability and scalability.
. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
. Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure adherence to enterprise standards.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Technical must have Expertise: Strong experience with Murex platform (v3.x preferred), including configuration, workflows, and integration. Solid understanding of legacy trading systems and migration strategies. Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python, and scripting for automation. Knowledge of SQL, Oracle, and data migration tools.

. Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Corporate Treasury products (FX, Money Market, Interest Rate Derivatives). Familiarity with risk management, valuation, and P&L reporting processes.

. Leadership & Project Management: Proven experience leading technical teams in large-scale system migrations. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to work in an Agile environment and deliver under tight timelines.

. Other Requirements: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 8+ years of experience in financial technology roles, with at least 3+ years on Murex.

Preferred Skills

. Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git).
. Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
. Exposure to regulatory compliance and audit requirements in banking.

*CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
