Job Overview:
CGI is looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Python, Apache Spark, SQL, and Kafka, along with expertise in building robust ETL/ELT pipelines across modern data lake architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).

You will work closely with analytics, platform, and application teams to ensure reliable, high-performance data processing and seamless integration across multiple data sources.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design and develop batch and real-time data pipelines using Python, Spark, SQL, and Kafka
• Build and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers
• Integrate data from multiple sources via APIs, message queues, and file-based ingestion
• Optimize data processing for scalability, performance, and reliability

Technical Skills:
• Python – strong hands-on experience for data processing and automation
• Apache Spark – batch and streaming data processing
• SQL – advanced querying and performance tuning
• Apache Kafka – real-time data streaming and messaging
• APIs – REST-based data integration
• Hadoop ecosystem – HDFS, distributed data platforms
• Shell scripting – operational automation
• Application Monitoring Tools – pipeline and system observability
