Position Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.
The Senior Systems Business Analyst is the primary liaison among business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems that satisfy business objectives on mission-critical projects. The Senior Business Analyst manages and communicates those requirements throughout the project life cycle. The Senior Business Analyst provides guidance and shares expertise with other team members through coaching and mentoring. Experience working on a diverse variety of projects both large and small as the lead Business Analyst throughout the project/development lifecycle is required to be successful in this role.
Looking for an individual with experience with Canadian dealer back-office systems in addition to in-depth knowledge of the dealer account transfer process pertaining to North American securities deposited in CDS and DTCC.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Elicit, analyze, validate and communicate business, functional and quality of service requirements for assigned projects using multiple BABOK methods and techniques including process workflow diagrams, User Stories, wire frames and/or BRD as required
. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level technical information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from actual underlying needs.
. Work with project sponsors to ensure requirements are aligned to business objectives.
. Prepare and deliver presentations to business and technology units, customers, industry forums, senior management and executives, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience
. Participate in industry working groups or councils and lead discussions to define requirements for enhancements or changes to the industry standards
. Within the agile delivery team, represent the needs of the business and stakeholder(s) by clarifying and answering questions related to the requirements of the project/initiative and build user stories in line with those needs as applicable
. Work in close partnership with Product Owner to refine requirements and user stories, ensuring alignment with the Product vision, roadmap and backlog priorities.
Internal and External Support
. Support internal and external customers throughout all phases of the project 10%
Testing
. Co-ordinate end user acceptance testing (UAT) on projects as needed by creating a test plan, documenting test cases, and supporting end user testers (during test case execution), recording test results and reporting issues/defects as they arise 10%
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
8+ years of experience working in BSA capacity.
. University degree (business or computer science) or equivalent work experience
. Must have in depth knowledge of dealer account transfer process for North American securities held on CDS or DTCC
. Must have experience working with and/or in-depth knowledge of the ATON transfer system
. Knowledge or experience working with DTCC ACATS transfer system an asset
. Knowledge or experience working with mutual fund or securities dealer back-office systems (e.g. Broadridge BPS)
. Knowledge of CANNEX and GIC account transfer process an asset
. Must have experience working on Scrum Agile teams as a BA and/or Product Owner documenting epics and detailed user stories with ability to breakdown stories to a size consumable within a sprint and distinguish between the backend and frontend requirements needed to implement a deliverable
. Experience leading and supporting Scrum Agile ceremonies (Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, etc.)
. Proven ability controlling scope, including negotiating and accounting for scope creep, documenting changes, and managing expectations of the deliverables across various stakeholder groups (developers, Product Sponsors, end users, etc).
Technical Skills & Knowledge
. Must have experience with JIRA and Confluence
. Must have experience with creating API documentation on developer portals
. Experience creating JSON schemas an asset
. Experience with Swagger hub an asset
. Experience with FIGMA an asset
. Understanding of various requirements analysis and modeling techniques
Soft Skills
. Strong analytical, critical thinking and writing skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into functional and operational requirements.
. Facilitation and presentation skills
. Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners
. Ability to work independently under time constraints
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
. Ability to identify and adjust the details/messaging to align with the stakeholder group's knowledge and areas of interest (i.e. Developer communication vs Industry communication vs Sponsor communication
. Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
*CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
