Oracle Systems Administrator

Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of the Infrastructure Outsourcing program for our client which provides critical services and support to meet the demands of the client, we are seeking an Oracle Exa Platform Administrator. CGI focuses on providing reliable and available information technology solutions to aid in ensuring that our client maintains decision advantage in performing all of its myriad missions.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and maintain system servers and operating system for Oracle Exa Platforms (Exadata, Exalogic, Exalytics).
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization using provided tools and report potential issues.
- Perform Oracle Linux upgrades and patching.
- Create and manage Oracle Virtual Machines.
- Support shift work to maintain 24/7 coverage of duties.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Must have at least three or more years’ experience in Linux administration

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required Citizenship is required.
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to appropriately apply a methodology to projects that have reasonably well-defined project requirements and deliverables
- Ability to successfully complete drug testing based on contract requirements.
- Ability to establish working relations at all organizational levels. Demonstrate ability to diplomatically and effectively deal with client management and program office stakeholders.
- Self-motivator with ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision or direction.
- Professional oral and written presentation skills
- Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Business
