Your future duties and responsibilities:

Your mission

Our Data-as-a-Service team is expanding, and we are looking for experienced Big Data engineers to join us.

Mission context: We currently manage data platform services and tools, including:

• Data ingestion: ingest data from various data sources
• Data processing: process, transform, and distribute data to target systems
• Data exposure: distribute and expose data hosted on the platform
• Data cleaning: securely purge data from the data lake
• Data tools: data formatting and anonymization tools

As a Big Data Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and build new cloud-oriented features in close collaboration with data platform and data foundation teams, contributing to the evolution and adoption of data-driven practices across the organization.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Your profile

Experience: 3–5 years related to the position
Language: Fluent in English*, knowledge of French is require

The skills, you need:

• Programming: Spark, Scala, Java, Python
• Operating systems: Unix, Linux
• Databases and SQL
• ETL and data warehousing
• Hadoop ecosystem
• Apache Spark

Your tasks
• Maintain a high level of service reliability and prevent platform issues
• Research new ways to acquire valuable data and improve data quality
• Design and enhance data solutions using various programming languages and tools
• Develop and improve data architectures aligned with business requirements
• Collaborate within technical communities to explore innovative approaches

*Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000–$135,000. This role is an existing vacancy.

Use of the term ‘engineering’ in this job posting refers to the technical sense related to Information Technology (IT) and does not imply that the individual practices engineering or possesses the requisite license as prescribed by the applicable provincial or territorial engineering regulator. We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT engineering-related functions, but licensure from an engineering regulator is not a prerequisite for this position.
