Position Description
Works independently under limited supervision as a Data Engineer in a healthcare IT environment. Plays a critical role in building and maintaining scalable, reliable data infrastructure that empowers analysts, data scientists, and product teams to generate insights and build data-driven products. Contributes to architecture decisions, data pipeline development, and high-quality data solutions in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain highly reliable and efficient data pipelines.
• Guide data infrastructure design and develop proof-of-concepts for recommended solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to support research initiatives and develop new data products.
• Design, develop, QA, and maintain data engineering code and workflows.
• Maintain documentation for the Data Warehouse and related data products.
• Ensure high standards for data quality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Provide technical thought leadership and dependable execution across diverse data projects.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must-Have Skills
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases.
• Deep hands-on experience with Apache Spark / PySpark.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse design, including star schemas and dimensional modeling.
• Proven experience building data pipelines from first-party and third-party data sources.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• Strong focus on code quality, architecture, and documentation.
Good-to-Have Skills
• Experience with AWS cloud services such as S3, Athena, EMR, and Kinesis.
• Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi).
• Experience with ETL tools such as Talend or similar platforms.
• Exposure to business intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlik).
• Hands-on experience with Databricks.
