Position Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client office (Toronto) at a minimum 5 days per month - subject to change at any time.
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) serves as a bridge between business teams and technical teams, helping identify business needs and translating them into actionable system and process requirements. The BSA supports the design, implementation, and optimization of business systems, ensuring alignment between IT capabilities and business objectives. This role is key to improving operational efficiency, enabling data-driven decisions, and driving system innovation.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Act as a liaison between business units, product owners, and technology teams.
o Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather and document business requirements.
o Translate business needs into clear, concise, and testable functional specifications.
. Requirements Management:
o Analyze and document current and future state business processes.
o Create user stories, process flows, wireframes, and data mapping documents.
o Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
. Solution Design & Delivery:
o Collaborate with UX/UI designers, architects, and developers to design optimal digital banking solutions.
o Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups in Agile environments.
o Support QA teams in test case development and UAT execution.
. Digital Banking Expertise:
o Understand core digital banking products such as online banking, mobile apps, digital onboarding, payments, and security features.
o Stay current with fintech trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, Accessibility process and guidelines etc.
. Communication & Change Management:
o Communicate complex technical concepts in business-friendly language.
o Support change management efforts including training, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Qualifications:
Must Have Education & Experience:
. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
. 2–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role in banking/financial services Retail and digital banking/mobile banking environment.
. Mandatory experience in IVR, Conversational AI, VA, Gen AI, Agentic AI, Automation exp
Skills:
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
. Ability to translate business needs into detailed requirements.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
. Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, Confluence, Figma, Wireframes, design-based requirements gathering or similar.
. Able to develop and communicate stories using State/Activity/Sequence diagrams.
. Understanding of systems analysis, data modeling, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
. Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, HRIS, or finance platforms (preferred).
Experience in using Co-Pilot for Office 365 or working experience with other AI Aider tools in Business requirement gathering / documentation.
Overall Exposure/Understanding and 1-2years experience in AI (LLM/Prompting/LLM/RAG)
Certifications (preferred but not required):
. CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)
. PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis)
. Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., Product Owner, Scrum Master)
