Technical Service Representative (96313)

Where the Chemistry Happens…
We are seeking a professional like yourself to join our team as a Technical Service Representative for the Automotive Coatings Group operating within Ontario. In this role, your primary function will be to provide in-depth support to our Toyota Automotive customer, working onsite at the customer account during day / 1st shift operations 5 – 6 days per week, with the ability to be on-call during off hours and weekends, as the situation demands.
In this role, you will support the efforts of BASF to assure value to the customer for product technical support, problem investigation, analysis, and resolution.
You will demonstrate the technical and professional expertise needed to enhance BASF’s reputation with the customer. This role controls key performance indicators within product service environments to drive problem resolution and product improvement initiatives critical to customer performance expectations. You will be based in Toyota Motor Manufacturing facility at Woodstock, ON.
Formula for Success: You Will…
· Provide on-site expertise of products, their application and performance.
· Inspect and evaluate painted units for defects (e.g., run outs, filmbuild, drips, craters, dirt, throw power, etc.) providing process recommendations for control and correction.
· Interact with production team members, maintenance personnel, and management at this customer manufacturing facility.
· Manage technical support activities on your own with minimal supervision.
· Create written reports, analyzing product and process data, and supporting inventory management and supply as required by the BASF service leader for that location.
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
· High school or GED required; advanced degree ideal. Educational and professional background in paint applications or manufacturing.
· 3-5 years expertise in relevant coatings, lab, or automotive manufacturing. Electrocoat / Ecoat paint application expertise a plus.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy to ensure smooth operations with daily / weekly production.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Strong leadership ability.
· Proficient computer skills and experience, including the ability to generate and maintain files in Microsoft Office. Reporting and data entry duties daily.
· Safety mindset.
