Objectives of the Position

 

Global Digital Services (GDS) is supporting BASF business in Digitalization transformation. Our MISSION is to drive forward the digital transformation of BASF, providing innovative, global and high-quality digital products and services through a strong agile culture.

In this role, you will, within our unit GDE/AE – SAP Deployment Management & Development Gatekeeping we ensure secure, stable and compliant operations of BASF’s SAP Application Platforms. Our global  SAP system landscape covers a high variety of different SAP applications including e.g. S/4 HANA, ERP, BW, HR and supports all critical business processes of BASF on a global level.

Main Tasks

·  You will be responsible for the stable operation of our SAP Application Platform which includes participation in weekly On Call Duties
·  As part of our team, you will take care and consult on IT Security topics in our SAP environment. Furthermore, you will coordinate and steer related activities with various SAP Application- and Technology-teams.
·  In addition, you will check SAP transports for adherence to BASF guidelines and decide on approval of deviations to ensure that system stability, integrity and performance is not endangered
·  You will define and further develop meaningful SAP development guidelines to ease creation of reliable and high-quality products.
·  You will define requirements for code scanning tools and coordinate their implementation in a heterogeneous landscape
·  You will participate in SAP security related activities and represent the area of secure development
·  Your operational tasks include error resolution, preventive maintenance activities and change processing in a high complex SAP environment.
·  You proactively and continuously improve the SAP IT security of the global SAP landscape
·  You ensure audit-proof and compliant operations of our SAP Application Platforms, execute checks in the relevant systems and identify and implement improvement potentials
·  You evaluate and drive the introduction of new and innovative technologies for the SAP Platform Operation and take care for a high degree of automation within our processes

Requirements

·  Degree in Information Technology or Digitalization with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
·  Operating of SAP R/3 or S/4 systems which includes SAP development knowledge, especially in ABAP OO, HANA and Fiori. SAP Basis know-how is beneficial
·  You have a conceptual and result-oriented mindset with a highly analytical and problem-solving working style
·  You are motivated to drive innovation and automation
·  You are curious about new topics or technologies and like to figure out how such things work
·  You have excellent communication skills in English in verbal and written form
·  You enjoy working as part of a global team
