RESPONSIBILITIES

You actively support our unit to ensure that the use of our active substances in agricultural practice poses minimal risk to the environment. The unit is responsible for risk and exposure assessment of pesticide and biocide active substances in the environment.

·  In your new role you estimate the environmental behavior of active substances in plant protection and biocidal products for their regulatory evaluation.
·  Mathematical modelling of environmental processes in the biosphere, pedosphere and hydrosphere is another part of your duties.
·  You develop new approaches and methods for describing environmental processes at the landscape level.
·  Furthermore, you contextualise environmental monitoring data using holistic approaches to characterise monitoring sites.
·  You develop, communicate and implement regulatory science strategies and defend these strategies at internal and external stakeholders.
·  Last but not least, you plan, conduct and timely deliver all agreed studies.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  PhD or MSc in environmental sciences, earth sciences, hydrology or a similar field
·  in-depth knowledge of processes within the biosphere, pedosphere and hydrosphere
·  experience in hydrological modelling of surface waters at catchment level
·  understanding of the pathways of pesticide active ingredients into surface waters
·  confident handling of geodata and geographic information systems (e.g. QGIS)
·  excellent communication skills in English are essential, German is a plus
