Job description

BASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019, BASF Zhanjiang Verbund Site Project would be BASF’s largest investment with up to US$10 billion upon completion and would be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF. BASF Zhanjiang Verbund site would ultimately be the third-largest BASF site worldwide, and will be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production by utilizing the latest digital technologies and applying the highest safety standards.

Main Tasks：

- EHS management：1.According to corporate, company and statutory EHS requirements, implement the relevant safety and environment protection policies and procedures together with EHS colleagues. 2.Be responsible for waste disposal on site coordination with compliance to EHS laws, regulations, and GB codes.
- Project phase：1.Be responsible for wastes categorization and identify and set-up the disposal channels.2.Be responsible for internal waste disposal/consultancy workflow and digital solution set up.3.Be responsible to build up internal waste service mechanism and workflow. 4.Be responsible for compiling and organize BIG internal training about procedures and instruction within scope.5.Be responsible for waste storage, OST (on site transportation) workflow builds up.6.Build up site Waste Community and support centralized waste management system set up.7.Support WDS (waste data sheet) define and waste MABAS build up in SAP.8.Support to build waste reporting according to national and local legal requirement and BIG management requirements.9.Support to build waste disposal cost management and charging mechanism.
- Operation phase: 1.Works as interface to waste producer, closely working with production plants to serve waste consultancy service.2.Be responsible to develop operational procedure and work instructions in terms of internal disposal, on-site transportation, internal reuse/recycle principles etc, and organize relevant training to waste producers.3.Be responsible to organize operational procedure, requirement training to waste producers.4.Be responsible for waste reporting in terms of generation, storage, and internal disposal according to national and local legal requirement and BIG management.5.Ensure waste internal storage, transportation, and disposal in a compliance way.6.Coordinate for new waste disposal, organize new waste WDS (waste data sheet) and WDS yearly review. 7.Support 3rd party disposal vendor management and evaluation.8.Support waste disposal cost management and charging.
- To fulfill other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degrees majored in Chemicals or Environment Protection; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional experience in waste disposal or integrated site experience of chemical production or EHS management, (3-5 years’ experience expected)
- Workable English and Mandarin language skills
- Excellent communication ability and job management skills.
