Job description

Main Tasks:
- Ensure scheduling for shift coverage. Define strategic and non-routine activities, then support scheduling of shift work, if applicable.
- Lead the inspection of in-coming materials, intermediates and finished products, and determines conformance to requirements accurately and timely. Maintain, review and release the test data in LIMS and/or SAP/MES to assure the traceability of all analysis data.
- Closely co-work with Chemist or Production; Be responsible to issue the “Adjustment Order” to plant to recover the off-spec product to in-spec product.
- Actively supports operation team in process troubleshooting, de-bottlenecking or modification projects, and optimization projects based on standard methods in the laboratory;
- Implements global procedures in agreement with BU, develops and optimize methods as necessary to maintain accuracy and precision of reported data. Revises all analysis instructions and provides training to lab technicians to assure the updated method implemented;
- Maintain the laboratory according BASF EHS-Q standards and BU housekeeping expectations. Lead regular inspection of the working place
- Develops, calibrates and validates measuring equipment as new methods are implemented. Develops and carry out maintenance and calibration plans, and maintains records of lab instruments;
- Lead the measurement system analysis, make sure both lab technicians and measuring equipment could fully meet the requirements of product and customers
- Lead the lab quality management system and customer audit with the requirements of TS16949; create and update the lab working instruction as needed; ensure the lab maintain the IATF16949 certification
- As one of the team member of core team for customer complaint, actively support the investigation and corrective & preventive actions development and implementation, co-work with QM engineer for 8D report preparation.
- Personnel management: Identify training needs of Lab Team Members and leverage the training role to provide the necessary training opportunities. Develop and implement development plan for lab engineer/ technician to support career development and to achieve a high level of performance
- Responsible for sample management, including sample sending, receiving, handling and storage.
- Purchases the required spare parts and chemicals for lab and prepare the required documents for chemical registration; Use Lean tools together with BU for lab furniture and equipment management.

Requirements:
- Education: Chemical Bachelor and above
- Working Experience: min. 2 years quality related working experience
- Technical & Professional Knowledge: Good command of oral and written English, good communication skills; Good EHS awareness
