The Farm Team Lead is responsible to manage crop growing, performing agronomical operations and all related activities supporting Research & Development (R&D) at our Acampo, CA site.

The position will contribute to develop and implement technologies that anticipate the evolving needs of the Vegetable Seeds R&D function. The position is constantly looking for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the work at the farm. 

As a Farm Team Lead, You Create Chemistry By...

 

·  Monitoring and managing the people involved in crop management.
·  Coordinating and working with the farm and greenhouse operations team for crop management
·  Establishing a strong and constructive relationship with internal clients through regular discussions and field visits to ensure optimal services
·  Ensuring that Farm protocols and work practices at site conform to global Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) , Responsible Care (RC) implementation standards, Hygiene and Stewardship policies and local laws and regulations
·  Participating in the planning and monitoring of Farm OpEx budget. Proactively communicates gaps between planned activities vs. realized output to supervisor
·  Coordinating Farm Technician activities on site as well as other locations with internal costumers

If you...

 

·  Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or similar fields
·  Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the areas of farm, agriculture, crop management
·  Experience in coordinating a team
·  Relevant understanding and application of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Responsible Care (RC) principles and regulations preferred
·  Proficient digital/technical skills including computer skills
·  Knowledge on farm equipment operation and maintenance; crop protection; field and greenhouse irrigation and plant nutrition principles; farm safety principles
·  Basic knowledge of seed production preferred
·  Fluent in English and at least intermediate speaking Spanish

Pay Transparency

 

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $85,920 - $118,140. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
