RESPONSIBILITIES
In our "Global Structural Elucidation" team, you will work on structural elucidation projects of crop protection active ingredients.
· In your role, you are responsible for the structural elucidation of plant protection active ingredients, including the identification of impurities, by-products, metabolites and reference materials with MS, NMR and IR.
· You manage a R&D laboratory with 2 - 4 laboratory technicians with a focus on LC-MS analysis. This includes organization, development and training of the laboratory team as well as ensuring occupational safety.
· Moreover, you make intensive use of up-to-date analysis software, maintain databases and LIMS systems and participate in the conceptual development of these applications.
· Planning and conducting regulatory studies in accordance with compliance, GLP and security requirements is also part of your responsibility.
· Additionally, you are accountable for the coordination of all structure-related scientific topics and studies on specific active ingredients. Thus, you work in close cooperation with colleagues from other teams and functions.
· Lastly, you are responsible for the resource planning of your projects, such as the use of external suppliers, laboratories and the BASF Shared Service Center in Berlin.
QUALIFICATIONS
· completed PhD in chemistry with a focus on structure elucidation using LC-MS of small organic molecules using radiolabel and non-target analytical methods
· knowledge of non-target analytics and structure elucidation is very much desirable
· previous knowledge of foreign substance metabolism is a plus
· experience in data management, digital data analysis and software development is an advantage
· very good written and spoken communication skills English and German and enjoy working in a team
