QC Technician (2000220) – Levittown, PA

 

Where the Chemistry Happens  

 

Perform prescribed tests and inspections on raw materials and product phases to ensure adherence to quality standards/specifications.  Requires a minimum of 1 year previous physical or chemical laboratory experience and six (6) months on the job training to obtain product knowledge, quality control specification requirements, understanding of procedures and organizational structure. The ability to understand complicated testing instructions, the ability to write laboratory reports, use a calculator, and input data into a computer.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success 

· 
Retrieves samples and performs prescribed analysis, including tests for critical characteristics with written and/or electronic records of such activities as established by the immediate supervisor in a safe and accurate manner.

· 
Maintains retrievable and traceable system of quality documentation and related items along with inventory control samples.

· 
Maintains formula integrity and creates lab batches as required by Research and Development and plant management.

· 
Notifies his/her supervisor before undertaking a work activity in which he/she is not adequately trained.

· 
Immediately reports unsafe acts or conditions to his/her supervisor and takes immediate interim steps to protect himself/herself and others from serious risk.

· 
Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.

· 
Planning through execution of tasks assigned. Support applicable Process Safety programs through participation in compliance audits, capital project reviews, regulatory PHAs (revalidations, clean-sheets) and other hazard / risk assessment activities as required or assigned. Ensure the on-time completion of Process Safety related mechanical integrity inspections as assigned. Utilize Management of Change (MOC) to assure timely communication and training of process related changes to affected personnel. As required, participate in any process safety related incident investigations and completion of assigned action items in a timely manner.
