Where the chemistry happens…

In this role, you will manage all phases of capital and expense projects and server as the primary technical point of contact between the project and business unit partners.  You will successfully complete assigned projects safely, on schedule and within budget, while following BASF Corporation Engineering standards and procedures.

The position is Freeport based and works a hybrid work schedule (onsite minimum 3 days/week).

You Create Chemistry By...

·  Achieve project objectives which include functionality, cost, and schedule for project investments up to approximately $25 million.
·  Provide leadership to the project team including engineering, production, infrastructure, logistics, procurement, and construction as well as mentor less experienced engineers.
·  Champion the scope development process to ensure completeness of basic engineering and seek opportunities for added value through application of Value Based Engineering.
·  Oversee the Change Management process and maintain focus on safety in the development of project concepts and during execution.
·  Develop execution and contracting strategies to effectively meet objectives.
·  Have a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive workplace as you ensure compliance with all BASF policies, procedures, and technical standards.

If you...

·  Have a Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or chemical engineering.
·  Have 7 or more years of engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment combined with at least 5 years of project management experience.
·  Have a  proven successful track record of executing multiple small- to medium-size capital projects simultaneously.
·  Possess outstanding interpersonal, problem solving, leadership, organizational and communication skills are required; team-oriented and capable of working in a multi-task environment.
·  Have in-depth knowledge of project management processes and project execution best practices.
·  Are familiar with SAP systems is preferred.
