Job description
• Continuous process optimization: Assist Process Manager for the continuous improvement process in the operation. Practice and implement optimization methodologies (e.g. lean management tools, 5S, ...). Maintain walkthroughs in operations and perform detailed process analyses to early identify improvement possibilities (with focus on operation, process, technology, automation, workflow). Assist Process Manager to drive automation / digitalization concepts and activities. Initiate timely corrective actions and preventative practices. Assist in internal and external audits. Develop and implement improvements to gain:
higher service quality
higher reliability and responsiveness
higher energy efficiency
waste reduction
cost efficiency
improved process safety
• New Requirements Management: Collect and evaluate new requirements from stakeholders, and timely develop and apply new solution to fulfill. MOC coordination to assess and control the risks from changes.
• Capacity & Demand Management: Collect and maintain capacity demand information and regular tracking on change. Support manager to develop cost-effective solution to ensure an adequate capacity of all functions to constantly meet customer expectations. This entails working overtime, outsourcing business operations, or purchasing additional equipment.
• MES system support & filling external process coordination with BU: communicated with Business unit to support filling process coordination. Support MES (Manufacturing Execution System) set up and maintain MES system running.
• Filling process support: support operation team to optimize the filling process and improve the filling equipment running efficiency.
• Qualification concept: Support Process Manager to develop and implement an operation specific qualification concept. Train the trainers (mentors for special topics) in operations. Responsible for the qualification documentation (Qualification-Matrix, Learning Assignments, etc.).
• Performance management: Responsible to collect and control process related KPIs (internal & LSP). Administration (compilation, maintenance, updating, retrieval, and distribution) of relevant operational data in an easily assessable IT-system.
• Process documentation: Responsible for process documentation like Logistics diagrams, Automation / EWM, Safety concepts, Workflows, Support processes, etc. Work closely with team to develop and maintain a computerized integrated documentation system for efficient/effective operations. Creation and maintenance of procedures and work instructions.
• Process safety: Responsible for process safety issues. Develop and document safety and environmental protection concepts (safety reviews, wastewater protection concepts, …). Investigate process safety incidents and implement preventive and/or corrective actions. MOC coordination for any changes.
• Quality management: Support Process Manager for the quality assurance within site logistics operations. Review and analyze quality performance data. Assist in customer and supplier audits. Supervise personnel’s adherence to QM procedures. Investigate quality deviations, conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive and/or corrective actions. NCM coordination.
• Audit coordination: Taking care of audits, QMS, legal requirements and certifications. Preparation and coordination for audits by ISO, Customs, customer etc.
• Energy Management: Support Process Manager for the energy management to achieve ISO 50001 certification and company low carbon targets.
• Others: Support Manager to participate other specific tasks to enable safety, compliance, business continuity, growth, savings and cost avoidance for BASF.
• University’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain / Industrial Engineering / Chemical Process Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 years’ Experience in filling operations or process optimization related positions.
• Experience with MES system.
• Basic Knowledge in innovative warehousing and supply chain technologies for automatization and digitalization.
• Solid knowledge in optimization methodologies.
• Fluent English.
