Where the chemistry happens…
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation and technical support for our e-coat business. You will also demonstrate strong leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies. You will play an important role in driving standardization across shifts, optimize products cycle time and work closely with other support groups like Maintenance to ensure proper priorities are placed. Additionally, you will lead troubleshooting efforts and provide solutions when problems arise. This role is in our Greenville, OH production facility; near Dayton.
As an Operations Engineer I you create chemistry by…
· Providing guidance and input to the achievement and development of plant goals, objectives, and operational budgets.
· Being called upon to troubleshoot and improve batch execution and related automation.
· Providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise to the daily Operational Team for plant problems that arise.
· Working as a team player, you can expect to be on-call and respond to any after hour event that impacts production or EHS.
· Providing technical input and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for production, EHS, and quality incidents.
· Leading PHAs (Process Hazards Analysis) and assigned process safety improvement activities. These skills will be a valued asset as you generate & complete MOC's and revalidate temporary MOC's to confirm their validity.
· Assisting and supporting the Production Supervisor to maintain safe operation and reliability of the plant.
If you...
· Have Bachelors in chemical engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
· Have experience in chemical production or maintenance is a plus.
· Have excellent computer skills, ABB, and Triconex automation knowledge is a plus.
· Have familiarity with equipment and instrumentation.
· Have solid problem-solving skills, experience in root cause failure analysis.
· Have a strong understanding of Process Safety Concepts and their applications and familiarity with EHS procedures/standards.
· Have an excellent communication skills and interpersonal understanding.
