Lead Application Engineer (Wet Cleans Technology) – Hillsboro, OR

 

Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are looking for a Wet Cleans R & D Application Expert to join our cutting R & D team focused on developing new products in the semiconductor manufacturing space.  The position will be based in Hillsboro, Oregon, supporting the overall success of the Electronic Materials Global Business Unit (GBU) of BASF.

The Head of Wet Cleans Technology will be responsible of managing R & D activities in the Wet Cleans space in North America.  The ideal candidates will bring extensive expertise in the wet cleans applications with a passion of innovation and strong leadership skills. 

 

Formula for Success:

·  Takes the lead on wet cleans R & D activities for supporting new business opportunities with customers and strategic partners of Electronic Materials in North America
·  Participates in technical review meetings and other technical meetings with customers and strategic partners to explore new business opportunities.
·  Secures the information exchange with other BASF sites in USA and global labs.
·  Effective interface with BASF team members at other global labs of Electronic Materials Business to support the development of BASF wet cleans products for customers and strategic partners in North America
·  Plans and supervises all wet cleans lab activities to prepare customer samples and ensure the quality and consistency of the samples/products.
·  Share knowledge with scientists and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and passion of excellence in the wet cleans domain.
·  Ensures full implementation of Safety Program and adheres to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements. 
·  Promotes the quality systems by monitoring, reviewing, and implementing detailed and accurate documentation processes for all product development and analytical activities and ensure the proper execution of SOPs in wet cleans domain.

 

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You

 

·  PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering  
·  5+ year research/product development experience in chemistry, chemical engineering or semiconductor manufacturing related field.
·  2+ years of research experience in the area of colloidal chemistry and dispersions and/or surface chemistry
·  Effective communication skills to facilitate discussions with internal personnel and customers.
·  Ability to effectively communicate detailed and precise technical requirement, procedures and results in oral and written format.
·  Management experience in directing, coordinating and managing team activities to accomplish highly technical tasks.
·  Experienced in lab operations.
·  Able to operate in environment of frequently changing priorities
