In the Construction Chemicals Division, we look for innovative chemical solutions for new buildings and building maintenance, refurbishment and renovation in order to meet the challenges of the future. Our innovations help to increase the lifespan of buildings, reduce the resources required for their maintenance and protect the environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Our unit Global Supply Chain and Procurement controls all activities that contribute to establishing an efficient value chain in our business area and is also responsible for global purchasing.
· You develop and implement product group strategies for purchasing, procurement strategies in cross-functional teams as well as cost-cutting measures.
· In addition, by monitoring the national and international market, you ensure a competitive and market-oriented global procurement.
· With the help of an active supplier management, you ensure an excellent supplier base together with partner functions.
· As a result, you are constantly developing our global purchasing network.
· Last but not least, you check existing service contracts and work out new ones.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Degree in economics, law or a comparable course of study
· At least 5 years of professional experience in a global purchasing function, ideally in indirect purchasing of IT services
· Excellent knowledge of German and English
· Strong analytical and strategic skills combined with excellent communication and teamwork skills

BASF and Lone Star Funds have signed an agreement on the acquisition of BASF's Construction Chemicals division. After the planned closing of the transaction in Q3 2020, the business will operate as a standalone group of companies and will be one of the leading construction chemicals suppliers worldwide. The group will offer advanced chemical solutions under established brands like Master Builders Solutions or PCI for the construction industry, maintenance, repair and renovation of structures. BASF Construction Solutions GmbH located in Mannheim will become the new Global Headquarter for the group including several global functions.
The new group of companies will have around 7,500 employees that form a global community of building experts. They leverage global technologies and in-depth knowledge of local building needs to develop innovations that help to make customers more successful and drive sustainable construction. We will operate production sites and sales offices in more than 60 countries and achieved sales of about €2.5 billion in 2018
